COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES

USED EYE GLASSES & HEARING AIDS - collection boxes are located at the following businesses and offices.
Banta Senior Center; Dr. Stan Blackman; Drs. Steven and Scott Buck; Dr.Eric Friedman; Eyeglass Emporium; Lewyckyj Taglia Felton Eye Clinic; Mercantile Bank; Phillips Ace Hardware; St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center; Valparaiso Medical Building; Walmart Super Center - East entrance; Wiseway Food Center.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS are presented each year to selected VHS seniors who plan to further their education and need financial assistance.

GLASSES FOR MEXICO - over 10,000 given out yearly on Mission Trips by Lions.

EYE EXAMINATIONS and GLASSES are provided for people in need in the greater Valparaiso area.

FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES

AVENUE OF FLAGS: One Hundred flags, previously flown over the U.S. Capitol Building, are flown along Lincolnway and around the downtown square each summer. Individuals and businesses sponsor the flags to show Valparaiso's support for our armed forces.

WHITE CANE DAYS are held in May and October. A white cane and/or sticker is given out for each donation.

Buy LIONS MINTS when you see them in area stores and restaurants.

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY COUPON BOOKS: These coupon books are a great way to patronize the area's merchants and are a savings for the customer.

PORT-A-PIT CHICKEN: Why cook? Chicken sold at the K-Mart parking lot on the corner of Calumet & Val Park Road.

LIONS VISION CARE, INC: a 501-C3 charity that raises funds and helps the visually impaired citizens of Northwest Indiana.
